Julio Cesar Aguilera, 37, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Yuma. Julio was born April 12, 1969 in Guadalajara, Mexico and moved to the United States at the age of 14. He graduated from Kofa High School and served as a Corrections Officer for the State of Arizona. Recently Julio received the National Life Saving Award from the American Red Cross for lay responder, and received several employee awards by the Arizona Department of Corrections. Julio is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Anna Aguilera; daughters, Anna Marie and Angelic Aguilera; mother, Guadalupe Cruz; brothers, Raymundo, Carlos, and Fernando Aguilera; in-laws John and Lupe Chretin. Julio is preceded in death by his father, Fernando Raymundo Aguilera Pallbearers will be Isaias Lerma, Julian Martinez, Armando Martinez, Miguel Aguirre, John D. Chretin, Nivas Beltran, Raul Velarde, and Jose Luis Tovar. Honorary pallbearers are John F. Chretin, Raymundo Aguilera, Carlos Aguilera, Fernando Aguilera, and Isaias Favela. Julio’s wake will be held Monday, January 29, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Yuma Mortuary with rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church and he will be laid to rest at Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Julio was very loved by his family and friends, and very respected by those who knew and worked him. This has been evident in the amount of love and affection expressed to his family during this time. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Iris “Lynne” Moor Iris “Lynne” Moor, 74, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital, California. Born in Hermosa, California she lived much of her life in Orange County, California. After Lynne raised her children she realized her goal of attending college and received her RN degree. She practiced nursing at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California for many years. She and her husband retired to Yuma where they built their dream home with the help of Scott and Karen Spencer. She enjoy working with people for several years at Yuma Home Care until health concerns prompted her to retire permanently in Laguna Woods, California. She was a devoted, compassionate, and loving, wife, mother and grandmother, known for placing the needs of others always ahead of herself. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert L. Moor; her sons, Christopher (Valerie) Moor, of Yuma and Timothy (Karen) Moor, of Mission Viejo, California; daughters, Jennifer (Randy) Pharo, of Edgewood, New Mexico and Allison (Steve) Hollander, of Renton, Washington; brother, David Nilsen, of Orlando, Florida; and sister, Robin Nilsen, of Redondo Beach, California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Sarah, Nick, Aaron, Michael, Heather, Paige, Brianna and Megan. A graveside service will be at Riverside National Cemetery, California on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 1 p.m. Cole Lee Boylan Cole Lee Boylan, born December 21, 2006, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 22, 2007. Cole is survived by his mother, Brandie Lee Boylan; grandfather, John Boylan; grandmother, Joann Boylan; aunt, Bonnie (Gerry) Bauer; cousins, Alyson and Alyssa; and numerous loving family members. A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Yuma Mortuary. Services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Community Christian Church, 6480 E. Highway 95, at 1:30 p.m. There will be a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Cole’s name care of Community Christian Church. Ruth H. Fitschen Ruth H. Fitschen, 78, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007 at La Mesa Care Center under the care of Hospice of Yuma. She was born on February 11, 1928 in La Porte, Indiana. First and foremost, Ruth was a homemaker. She also had worked as a floral arranger for The Flower Mine in Yuma. Ruth was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Yuma Mesa Homemakers, Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society, and the Organization of Wisconsin Lutheran Seniors. Ruth was a faithful servant of Christ and loved serving others. She was also a watercolor and colored pencil artist. She enjoyed floral arranging, knitting, and sewing. She was a great example to her grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leonard Fitschen, of Yuma; son, Thomas (Theresa) Fitschen, of Yuma; daughters, Ann (Jim) Werner and Gloria (Greg) Hula, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter-in-law, Elise Fitschen, of Idaho Falls; sister, Lois Weber, of Paso Robles, California; brother-in-law, Bill Fitchen, of Newport Beach, California, and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John Fitschen; as well as a brother, sister, and her parents. A visitation will be at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on Monday, January 29, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A service will be on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Dusek officiating. Burial at Desert Lawn Memorial Park will immediately follow the service. Donations may be made to Arizona Lutheran Academy, Alzheimer’s Association, or Hospice of Yuma. Ruth Naomi Jones Ruth Naomi Jones, 82, passed away at her home in Yuma on Saturday, January 20, 2007. Ruth was born in Tripoli, Iowa on March 4, 1924. She married the love of her life, Ben Huss Jones, on October 23, 1945 and they celebrated their 60th anniversary just two months before his death on December 30, 2005. Ruth worked at an aircraft factory during World War II. She met her sailor sweetheart at the Brite Spot Cafe, where she worked as a waitress after the factory closed, and they were married 30 days later. They lived in Waterloo, Iowa until their daughter, Bonnie, graduated from high school. They then returned to "God's Country," as Ben put it, Yuma, Arizona, where he was born and raised. After moving to Yuma, Ruth worked for Yuma School District One in the Cafeteria Office for over 14 years, prior to retirement. She loved her work and her fellow workers. After retirement she loved traveling in their motor home, which they did part-time for the next ten years, until Ben's health began to fail. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Rickabaugh, of Yuma Arizona; three grandchildren, Joe Birkmeyer of Abilene, Texas, Lisa (Chuck) Hibbard of Yuma, Arizona and Scott (Nicole) Daniels of Stockton, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; and her older sister, Zatha Meewes of Waterloo, Iowa. Ruth was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Ben; her parents, Carl and Martha (Hagen) Kroll; and her younger sister, Arlene. The family wishes to extend their heart-felt thanks to Janet and Lorraine for the tender loving care given to Ruth and also to Hospice of Yuma for their wonderful words of encouragement and deeds of comfort during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 300 S. Fourth Ave., Yuma, Arizona on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family encouraged you to make a donation to Hospice of Yuma, helping them continue blessing others as they have blessed Ruth and her family in the final season of her life. Louise Norma Musick Louise Norma Musick, 78, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2007 in Yuma. She was born in Denver, Colorado on April 11, 1928. Louise owned and operated Chesters’ Chuckwagon until her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Chester M. Musick, of the home; daughter, Sandra Musick, of Yuma; son, Ronald Musick, of Yuma; grandson, Corey Hotel, of Yuma; granddaughter, M’elle Mae Musick, of Yuma; three great-grandchildren; and cousin, Jannis Musick, of Denver, Colorado. Visitation will be at Johnson Mortuary on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Charles O. Tyson. Final resting place will be Desert Lawn Memorial Park.  |
